Chapter 2
Chapter Summary
Chapter Topic: Scientific Investigation
In this chapter, we looked at how a scientific approach is applied to business research.
In order to be meaningful, scientific research must answer the question “So what?”
It must be purposeful and must have a definite outcome that is expected to benefit the organization within a frame of time.
Research must be carefully performed, the results testable, repeatable and should be closely related to the real-life situation in which the research findings would be applied. Researchers must be objective in their approach and the results of the research must be applicable to other settings outside the controlled environment in which the result was carried out.
