Chapter 1 Summary

Chapter Title: Introduction to Business Research

In this chapter, we looked at business research and how it relates to managers and leaders of organaizations.

It was established that business research is absolutely critical to success in business and without it, managers would only make decisions based on past experience, intuition or guess work.

We looked at the basic and applied types of research and how they are applied to the work place.

We looked at how managers can relate effectively with researchers/consultants and the advantages and disadvantages of using internal and external researchers/consultants in the workplace.

Ethics is very important to business research and organizations that commission research work, the researchers and the respondents that provide research data must all ensure that they follow ethical guidelines in doing business research work.
